<p>Durham County Cricket Club, now rebranded as Durham Cricket, is one of the eighteen first-class county clubs in the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Durham.</p>
<p>The club has a rich history that dates back to its establishment on May 23, 1882. Their first match was played at Chester Road cricket ground in Sunderland on June 12, 1882, where they defeated Northumberland by 4 wickets.</p>

They were the first Minor County team to defeat a first-class team when they shocked Geoffrey Boycott's Yorkshire at Harrogate.
